Project for Primary School Girls....loading.

my adventure into the Nigerian education system began here...with high school students! I remember skipping lunch sessions in office, just to visit young people in neighbouring schools -Opebi Grammar School and Oregun. The 2008 WAEC result that had 86% candidates failed woefully in their compulsory courses set me on my feet...something must be wrong somewhere, somehow, I was so convinced, maybe because I belong to that school of thought which believes that in every child lies an iota of greatness, waiting to be explored. Those young people aren't dullard. They just weren't explored well..For an improved academic performance, there must be a corresponding improvement in teaching methodology etc.

Oops! the further I delved into understanding the issues in the system, the more I get LOST in its complexity. The poor learning outcomes, highest rate of out of school children in the world, the marginalised rural community children etc.
The photograph attached shows students and girls of one of our 'adopted' low cost private high schools in rural community. They would be writing the mandatory West African Senior School Certificate examination in some weeks time. Once again, special thanks to every volunteer mentor who got our back all through the years. you are simply gorgeous. smile emoticon. I needed to remind you.
Next Project....kicks off in March. For girls...primary school girls.
